Please keep in mind that during a portion of the clinic, although Sensei Jorga will be covering certain aspect of Fudokan kata and a comparative analysis with Shotokan kata (likely Bassai Dai and Matsumura Bassai), knowledge of these kata is not a requirement for attendance so lower belts are also encouraged to attend.

Please join us for this special opportunity to train under Mikami Sensei, who is the highest ranking representative of J.K.A. in the United States. The focus of this training session will be the kata, Jion. In addition, Dr. Schlauder will cover a number of conditioning drills.

Please join us for this special opportunity to train under Sugiyama Sensei, who has promoted the foundations of traditional karate through the development of a unique approach to instruction that is based upon 11 innovative principles of Karate. The focus of this year’s camp will be to apply these principles to the application of kumite. The topics will be relevant to levels of students from Blue belt and above. In addition Dr Schlauder will cover a number of conditioning drills as well as competition rules and strategy.

November 2005

Congratulations to the JKA Chicago International Team

The Open World Karate Championships were held in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Udine) Italy, 25-27 November, 2005.
The events included Kumite, Kata, Kobudo, Point Karate and Karate self defense to give all competitors the possibility to make a different experience.
Lignano Sabbiadoro is a beautiful town located 1 hour East of Venice on the Adriatic see coast. The tournament was a huge success with the competition including over 1000 competitors.
JKA Chicago represented the USA in this international event and brought home a bronze medal.
Three of the team members qualified for international judging. Once again, congratulations!!!
